Carsington Water’s unique Derbyshire landscape has been a real hit with British wildlife. The reservoir has become a home to hundreds of birds, including species that are seldom found elsewhere in the UK.

With wildflower meadows, woodland, hides throughout the grounds and a large RSPB presence, Carsington Water is one of the midland’s best bird watching spots. Watch out for Buzzards, Great Crested Grebes, Kingfishers, Lawpings not to mention the ducks!

The RSPB staff on site run events throughout the year – aimed at engaging everyone with the wildlife on offer, and are always keen to offer advice and answer questions. Check out their website to find out more about what Carsington Water offers in the way of wildlife.
